During a trip in August 2002 to her family’s village to honor her recenly deceased father who sadly passed away in his Brooklyn home on September 11, 2001, A. Gyimah Chin was devasted when she came across the school building that her father was once a student and later became a teacher for. The foundation was completely eroded, the roof unable to funcation effectivley during the rainy season, the desks termite ridden, and a makeshift chalkboard that was impossible to read from. Without any further delay, she jumped into action creating Labour of Love focusing on her fundraising efforts towards the Tumfah Education project to help bring awareness to the community that desperately needed assistance for their local school. From humble beginnings, we began providing educational and healthy living resources to the community. Since our inception we have been able to provide school supplies, uniform resources, feminine hygine products, and fundamental first aid supplies without the use of grant funding or major sponsorships. Now, with increased enrollment rates, and growing population due to to newly accessable living resources provided by our organization, we need your help to getting this growing community and others like it around the world all that is needed to sustain not just surviving in an agricultural village but thriving in one as well.
